Smart Cabs: A business idea I presented in a hackathon.
Every year, around 33% of road accidents and 99% of cardiac arrests victims do not survive in India as compared to 2% and 70% respectively in the US (Kotturu 2018). The differences in survival rate are attributed to access to quality treatment during the “golden hour” .
The average fare for the normal taxi is (considering the case of India) 50 INR for the start and 15 INR per kilometer. After installing the required equipment in the cab to build it in a convertible ambulance, these fares with small modulations can be charged from the patient with an extensive network and much improved availability of service. When the charge will reach upto a nominal price, all cab drivers will also be convinced for the services.
In India nearly 6 out of 10 cab drivers are illiterate ,so the problem of providing them the basic nursing knowledge can be solved by using a VR headset that will be trained in order to teach them what they require at the time of emergency. The choice of VR Learning is justified by research that shows that a virtual experience helps in improving learning by upto 9 percent.
